Choose a spirit by raw material. You'll get its wash profile with a source for every value, amounts scaled to your batch where the sources give a recipe, and the next step in the calculators.
Before pitching yeast, with a hydrometer (SG) or a refractometer (°Brix). Read the hydrometer at its calibration temperature, most often 15.5°C (60°F).
A refractometer reading taken after fermentation is distorted by alcohol, so FG always comes from a hydrometer.
You'll see the estimated ABV and how much pure alcohol the wash holds.
Switch to "Dilute to a target °Brix" to get the water to add before fermentation.
